Our Mission and Goals
Covenant Preschool and Childcare was founded in 1975 as a community outreach of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. The school provides a developmentally appropriate, child-centered learning environment with Christian nurture, and strives to develop the whole child--socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually. We provide an atmosphere for learning in which the following goals are pursued:
an awareness of God's love for each person, especially as expressed through Jesus Christ
an enjoyment of learning
a feeling of accomplishment
a sense of personal worth
a regard for the rights of others
the ability to express self verbally and through creative means
the ability to develop methods for solving one's own problems
the ability to work alone and within a group
the ability to take care of bodily needs and the physical environment
an awareness of a larger world beyond one's self (community, nature, the arts, etc.)
